Like bro, you missed the anti-capitalist/anti-imperialist/anti-religious (sub?)text of the first one? The casual sprinkling of queer npcs all over everywhere? The intersectional-feminist everything?
The continuation of all those things in the sequel? The anti-colonial vibes? The mocking of the tech cult of personality? The fact that Aloy’s “mom” has an explicit relationship with a woman?
Like, my dude, my guy, you can just say you’ve never played the game, and you’re not the target audience so that’s okay
There are some legit criticisms of the sequel, from like a pacing and mechanics standpoint, but the “wokeness” of the series ain’t one of them
Admittedly, the whole “go woke go broke” crowd tend to have like, 0 media literacy, and are now angry because they can see it.
